Recycle Brita filters at Whole Foods

As part of the #5 plastics collection at Whole Foods, you can also recycle brita water filters. The program, created by Preserve, and offered through a partnership with Whole Foods Market, Stonyfield Farm and Organic Valley is now available at Whole Foods Market, St. Paul. The Preserve Gimme 5 program accepts Brita water pitcher filters for recycling. Here is what you need to do:

  1. Dry the filter by shaking off excess water and setting it in a dry place for at least three days.
  2. Wrap the filter in a plastic grocery bag, which will be recycled at the Preserve Gimme 5 destination.
  3. Drop in the Preserve bin at Whole Foods' cafe

Here is the Whole Foods web information, and this page tells more about Preserve Gimme 5 program.
